The short version: the app collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics, so there is no copy of your data anywhere but your own phone.
The names, phone numbers and handles you enter, the messages you write into the vault, your schedule and your statistics are written to your device's protected app storage. They are never transmitted. They are deleted when you delete the app, or immediately when you tap Delete all data in Settings.
We have no way to read any of it. Not with a warrant, not by accident, not if we were bought by someone worse. The data does not exist outside your phone.
The app uses Apple's Screen Time framework to shield the apps you choose. Apple deliberately does not tell us which apps those are — the app receives anonymous tokens it cannot decode. Screen Time data is never used for advertising and never shared with anyone.
Android has no equivalent of Screen Time, so the app asks for three permissions and one battery setting to do the same job. Each one sounds broader than what we actually use it for, so here is the honest version of each.
The app does not use an accessibility service and does not use a VPN. Both are common in apps like this one and both would let an app see far more than we need.
What the Android version cannot do. On iPhone the operating system enforces the shield. On Android nothing can: if you force-stop the app or take a permission away, the shield stops. The app notices when that happens and tells you in the morning — that is the whole of what it does about it, and it is worth knowing before you buy.
The one-time purchase is processed by Apple or by Google, under their terms and their privacy policies. We receive aggregated sales reports — how many copies sold in which country — with no personal data attached. We never see your card, your name, your Apple ID or your Google account.
There is one purchase and it happens once. No subscription, no advertising, no in-app purchases, and nothing you can be charged for later.
If you gave us your email address on this site, it is stored in a Cloudflare key-value store — the same company that serves this page, on their infrastructure, no third-party mailing service involved — for one purpose: to email you once, when the app is released. We store three things and nothing else: the address, the date, and which language version of the page you used so the email arrives in a language you read. No IP address, no country, no tracking. It is not added to a newsletter, not shared, not sold, and the whole list is deleted after launch. Reply to that email — or write to [email protected] — and we'll remove you sooner.
This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising cookies. It sets no cookies at all.
Because we hold no personal data about you from the app itself, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or erase — it is already entirely under your control on your device, and the app can export or delete it in one tap. For the waitlist email address, the usual rights apply and one message to us settles them.
The app is rated for adults on both stores and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect anything from children — or, for that matter, from adults.
